The IAEA celebrates International Women's Day

March, 8 is International Women’s Day and this year the International Atomic Energy Agency made the occasion by bringing more than 400 women together for a two-day event «Nuclear Needs More Women».

The meeting which took place at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna was attended by numerous graduates and current participants of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie and Lise Meitner IAEA scholarship programs, as well as experts and employees of the nuclear industry.

By its Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Program, launched in 2020, and the Lise Meitner Program (LMP), launched in 2023, the IAEA gives more women to pursue their careers in the nuclear field, ensures gender equality and enables women to reach their full potential.

The Rosatom delegation included NNSTU foreign students Mariama Balde from Senegal.
