Warsaw Polytechnic Institute of Emperor Nicholas II was founded in Warsaw.

1916

Warsaw Polytechnic Institute moved to Nizhny Novgorod.

1917

Nizhny Novgorod Polytechnic Institute was established on the basis of Warsaw Polytechnic Institute.

1950

Gorky Industrial Institute was renamed in Gorky Polytechnic Institute.

2007

Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University was renamed in Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev.

2011

Prof. Sergey M. Dmitriev became Rector of Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev.

2017

Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev got the status of the flagship university.
