The International Oil and Gas Youth Forum was held in the Republic of Tatarstan. It brought together 240 students and young specialists from oil and gas companies, as well as university professors from 26 Russian regions, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event included a 6-day intensive training course, round tables, master classes in the fuel and energy complex, business games and lectures.
The key point of the educational program was Hackathon for Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex 2050, dedicated to development of innovative technologies for extraction and processing of natural resources, biotechnology and digital transformation of the industry. The participants were engaged in design and solution of real cases of leading oil and gas companies in Russia. The particular attention was paid to development of soft skills (leadership competencies, effective communication, focus on results), as well as training of principles of project management, basics of flexible thinking and theories of solving inventive problems.
Based on the results of the first expert assessment, 90 students and teachers were selected to participate in the 6th International Oil and Gas Youth Forum. They included representatives of Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University.
In the semi-final the participants had to defend their project solutions. The contestants had to describe goals and objectives of their project, indicate target audience, outline prospects for implementing the project. As a result, 20 teams were selected for the final, five in each of the hackathon areas.
In the final NNSTU representatives successfully performed as part of the finalist teams of the event.
