The 51st session of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) was held in August, 2026 in Paris. The event is the central one in activities of the largest international organization for scientific and technical exchange in the field of electric power engineering. Its primary goal is exchange of professional knowledge and information between engineers, scientists and technical specialists from all the countries in the branch of electricity generation and transmission.
As usual, at the session current challenges facing energy systems worldwide and opportunities for industry development were discussed. The particular attention was paid to shaping secure and sustainable energy future and implementing advances in artificial intelligence.
NNSTU postgraduate Daniil Gusev was one of three young scientists selected to join the Russian delegation at the session following the competition that included more than 100 young scientists from across the country. He presented his report on the topic: "Intelligent Voltage Regulator as a Key Element of an Electrical Grid with Renewable Energy Sources Operating on the Internet of Energy Principle".
