Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev has entered The Three University Missions Ranking (MosIUR).

In 2022 MosIUR included 1800 universities from 103 countries.

Russia closed the top three world leaders in the number of universities (146 universities; only the United States and China have a higher figure). At the same time, in 2022 educational institutions from more than half of the subjects of the Russian Federation are represented in the global list for the first time – from 45 regions against 39 regions a year earlier.

Harvard University from the USA was recognized as the best higher education institution in the world, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (the USA) took the second place, the University of Cambridge (the UK) took the third place.

The pilot version of the rating was presented in 2017. The rating consists of the total weight of the indicators of the groups: 45% for the group "Education", 25% for the group "Science" and 30% for the group "University and Society". For each indicator the score of the university was calculated, characterizing its position according to competitors.

Only objective criteria approved by international experts were used to compile the rating. The sources of information were open data from the official websites of the universities and national authorities, as well as data from different independent international sources.
