NNSTU entered the pilot ranking of universities of the BRICS countries

The Association of Rating Compilers has presented the first pilot version of the BRICS university ranking which includes 600 educational institutions from ten countries: Brazil, Egypt, India, Iran, China, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and South Africa.

The rating was compiled taking into account the peculiarities of the BRICS countries and its methodology was based on the model of the international rating "Three University Missions". In the evaluation process, the attention was paid to students’ results at international olympiads, while the financial rankings of the universities played a less significant role. For the first time, the criterion reflecting the level of scientific cooperation with colleagues from the BRICS countries was also introduced. Only objective criteria approved by Academic Awards were used to compile the rating.

The number of the universities representing the country was determined in the proportion to the country's contribution to the global economy. The list includes universities that occupy leading positions in the global academic rankings and/or leading in the national rankings. Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev entered the pilot ranking of 600 universities of the BRICS countries. NNSTU joined the group of universities that took place in the ranking from 351 to 400.
