Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University was included in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 by Subject: Engineering. The new ranking in the direction of "Engineering" includes 1306 educational institutions, including 60 Russian ones (in the past the total number of participants was 1188).
The ranking provides the overview of the quality of different higher education institutions based on the analysis of 15.5 million research publications and 121 million citations to these publications, as well as more than 40,000 responses to the annual academic reputation survey and hundreds of thousands of the additional data, such as university's learning environment, international perspectives and industry connections.
Every year, the ranking is compiled by subject in 11 areas based on official statistics and university data. It evaluates universities according to 13 criteria grouped into 5 categories.
