In December, 2021 IV Forum of Russian-Chinese University Alliance of the Volga Federal District and the Upper and Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River was held online. It was organized by its co-founders - Sichuan University and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev. This year it was devoted to topical issues of academic and scientific and technical cooperation between Russian and Chinese universities, as well as development of interregional humanitarian and economic cooperation.
At the opening of the event the participants were greeted by Oleg Mashkovtsev - Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District and Zhang Weili - Counselor of the Department of Europe and Central Asia of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
Then the co-chairmen of ''Volga-Yangtze'' University Alliance Prof. Sergey Dmitriev (Rector of NNSTU) and Prof. Li Yanrong (Rector of Sichuan University) presented their speech. They noted that University Alliance plays an important role in development of cooperation covering new areas - artificial intelligence, big data, Internet of things, information technology.
During two days of the Forum, 28 reports were made by numerous representatives of Russian and Chinese universities, dedicated to various aspects of cooperation. The meeting participants from both countries exchanged experience, discussed promising directions for implementation of joint projects and ways to build up inter-university cooperation.
