In October, 2020 III Forum of Russian-Chinese University Alliance of the Volga Federal District and the Upper and Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River was held online. It was organized by its co-founders - Sichuan University and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev. The Forum was devoted to topical issues of further development of inter-university cooperation in the post-epidemic period.
At the opening of the event the participants were greeted by Oleg Mashkovtsev - Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District and Zhang Weili - Counselor of the Department of Europe and Central Asia of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
Then the co-chairmen of ''Volga-Yangtze'' University Alliance Prof. Sergey Dmitriev (Rector of NNSTU) and Prof. Li Yanrong (Rector of Sichuan University) spoke.
The forum brought together leaders and researchers from 17 Russian and 14 Chinese universities. During the event the reports on various aspects of Russian-Chinese educational, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation between universities were given.
As a result of the meeting the parties decided to organize IV Forum of Russian-Chinese University Alliance of the Volga Federal District and the Upper and Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River in 2021.
