Forum of the brain of University Alliance "Volga-Yangtze"

In October 2017 NNSTU delegation headed by Rector Sergey M. Dmitriev took part in the first Forum of the brain of Russian-Chinese University Alliance of the Volga Federal District and the Upper and Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River. The forum was held in Chengdu (the People's Republic of China), the organizer was Sichuan University. More than 30 representatives from 20 universities from the Russian side and more than 60 representatives from 30 universities from the Chinese side participated in the Forum.

The main directions of the Forum were:

  • "One Belt and One Road'' Initiative and regional development of China and Russia.
  • Interaction between "One Belt and One Road'' Initiative and "Volga-Yangtze" format.
  • Sino-Russian economic and trade cooperation within the framework of "Volga-Yangtze" format.
  • "Volga-Yangtze" - prospects and challenges.
  • Sino-Russian humanitarian cooperation within the framework of "Volga-Yangtze" format.

During the Forum the participants got acquainted with experience, tasks, goals and prospects of Russian and Chinese universities. Professor Dmitriev made a report on the topic "On joint educational, scientific, youth, cultural and other projects implemented by VFD universities and Chinese universities".

Co-Chairmen of University Alliance "Volga-Yangtze" from the Russian and Chinese sides Professor Sergey Dmitriev and Professor Xie Heping (Rector of Sichuan University) noted that this Forum was an important stage of Sino-Russian cooperation in the context of global globalization and would bring collaboration to a new level.
