The visit of NSTU to Gdańsk University of Technology

At the beginning of May 2013 NSTU leadership headed by Rector Sergei M. Dmitriev made an official visit to Gdańsk University of Technology. The delegation of NSTU was also supported by vice-rector for academic affairs Evgeny G. Ivashkin and director of the Automobile Institute Anatoly M. Groshev.

At the business meeting Rector of NSTU and Polish counterpart, prof. Henryk Krawczyk (Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology) have signed a framework agreement on cooperation in the field of education and science.

During the visit NSTU delegation visited several departments of Gdańsk University of Technology: the Center for Nanotechnology, the Engineering-Mechanical Faculty and the Faculty of Electronics and Automation.

The initiator of the meeting was Slawomir Makowski, an associate professor of Gdańsk University of Technology. In 2012 he visited NSTU with his graduate students and participated in the annual conference "The future of technical science". This year Slawomir Makowski also visited NSTU indicating the origin of the close relationship between two technical universities. The next stage of cooperation should be the exchange of students between NSTU and Gdańsk University of Technology which will strengthen bilateral cooperation, improve the efficiency of the international activities of the universities as well as implementation of long-term programs and research projects.
